Who
says bigger is always better? One of the
most sustainable practices is trying to minimize our “eco-footprint.” The Trinity we are working on and all other Trinities
obviously use much less materials to build and renovate than your standard home
given their size. If anyone is
interested in trying to simplify their lives, visit your local Philadelphia
Trinity. The home will use less
materials, less waste, and less to heat/cool.
As wonderful as this project will be when it is complete, it will
definitely have its fair share of difficulties along the way. Simple things such as door openings, stairway
clearances, ample room to work, etc. will all have to be analyzed ahead of
time. The extremely tight spiral
staircase will be quite a formidable opponent, not letting us even bring full
sheets of dry wall up the stairs. The
24” wide fridge cannot even make the bend given the height and will have to be
brought in through the second story window.
Due to the property being in an interior courtyard surrounded by
townhomes and trees on the exterior, the air conditioner cannot be craned to
the roof, but will have to be manually lifted…
Despite the challenges, it is going to be a really great project in the
end.
