Entertainment Area- Before & After
The original room obviously lacked light. Since it is in a courtyard, even with the window, the first floor of the home doesn't receive a lot of natural daylight. The room also painted terribly, lacked storage, and was simply overcrowded. There simply was no character to the space.
We added plenty of light, 1 surface mount on the ceiling, a sconce by the entrance, and 5 recessed lights. Hardwood floors (custom milled from vintage lumber) replaced the old, cracking terra cota tile. The new entertainment center offers plenty of storage. Wainscotting now dresses up what was once a blank canvas.
